Plum Gas Solutions Launches Plum Pulse, a High-Pressure Compressor Unit Engineered for Demanding Natural Gas Applications

Plum Gas Solutions is pleased to announce the launch of Plum Pulse, a high-pressure compressor unit designed to deliver reliable performance for operators who need flexibility, efficiency and consistent uptime. Developed for virtual pipeline operations, oil and gas sites and a wide range of industrial applications, Plum Pulse brings together rugged engineering, field-ready design and smart monitoring tools to support modern natural gas operations.

Reliable Compression for Field Operations

Plum Pulse is built to handle high-demand conditions with dual-stage compression capable of reaching discharge pressures up to 3,800 PSIG while supporting suction pressures from 500 to 900 PSIG. This makes it suitable for a variety of deployment scenarios, including virtual pipeline compression, stranded gas capture, dual-fuel drilling and pipeline maintenance.

The unit is fully compliant with ASME B31.3, NFPA 70, CSA B51 and CSA C22.1 standards and engineered to operate reliably in temperatures ranging from -20°F to 350°F, offering dependable performance across diverse field environments.

High-Capacity Output and Efficient Operation

With compression capacity of up to 40,000 m³ per day at 750 PSIG suction, Plum Pulse supports high-volume natural gas movement for CNG virtual pipelines and large-scale industrial needs. Its Caterpillar G3406NA gas-driven engine provides a stable power source without requiring external electricity, supported by a built-in alternator with solar and battery backup.

An integrated air-to-gas heat exchanger with both intercooler and aftercooler coils maintains thermal balance during continuous duty cycles, helping protect system efficiency during extended operation.

Smart Monitoring and Real-Time Visibility

Plum Pulse is equipped with ScadaCore cloud-based monitoring, providing operators with real-time dashboards, alarm notifications and remote data tracking. This visibility enhances uptime, supports informed decision-making and reduces the need for on-site checks.

Mobile, Self-Contained and Field-Ready

The compressor unit is fully trailer-mounted with a footprint of 177 inches wide by 700 inches long, allowing for fast mobilization and easy deployment across job sites. As a self-contained system that requires no external power and uses sweet natural gas as fuel, Plum Pulse helps reduce operating costs and minimizes setup constraints.
